I am poetically healed in order to reveal
These inner truths
Hot and heavy truths
Family secret-type truths
Mindful and restless truths
Open heart surgery truths
You know the kind that rattles the core of your essence
Stirs you up in a frenzy
Robs you of all certainty
Make you question your sanity-type truths
You know those truths that demand your attention
For fear of exposure
So you won’t wander into isolation
Or cower into seclusion
Truths that require a reflection to bounce off of
A finger to point at
A rug to be pulled up under
Rose-colored shades to be removed
And no shade...but
There will be shade
These truths are no respecter of feelings
Or Hollywood status
Your thousands of followers
Or unlimited bad habits
These truths will not remain silent any longer
No more hiding in darkness
For they are ready to fall into light
And you know something?
What they see, they like
Finally, their time to shine
To hold space for you
Create a way for you
Hold you accountable to your dreams
Carry you safely to your release
These truths advocate on your behalf
For they are your witness, your fitness
Your true “better half”
They desire to be honored
To be dealt with care
So when you navigate new territory
There’s nothing left to repair
It's time to walk the path of truth
I'm grateful for Jessica Freites, an old friend of mine, also an amazing Artist, Astrologer and Sound Healer, who declared the recent New Moon in Aries a time to "clear, cleanse, ground, manifest, and repeat!"
This succinctly describes the pattern I've been consciously repeating for the past two years: from sister circles to sound baths, meditations and reiki sessions. I found myself in the middle of clearing and cleansing again as new insight was being revealed to me regarding cycles I needed to observe for the purpose of letting go and reaffirming new beliefs. During this time a number of themes resurfaced to be examined including childhood memories, power struggles, setting boundaries, understanding my role in exchanges with others, self-confidence, etc. I even tried a new animal deck and pulled the armadillo - a reminder to honor my armor of protection. Journaling and communicating with friends & family have also been vital for receiving clarity
and moving forward in wisdom.
We are often no match for the emotional waves that carry us, stopping us in our tracks, interrupting our plans, commanding our attention so we may capture the lessons intended for us in the moment. Last Saturday afternoon, my partner and I were energetically drawn to the beach where we released and bathed our spirits in the embrace of water and sun.
As we watched the sunset, we meditated and expressed deep gratitude.
There is no apparent guidance or supervision when experiencing spiritual growth unless deliberately sought after by reliable, trusted sources. Even then, you literally and symbolically start over, meaning you learn a new language, behaviors, patterns and beliefs to navigate the new space or level of being you now inhabit. It's up to you to collect your tools and play.
The best thing you can do is be open, be patient and have ample grace for yourself as the journey will not be linear nor "perfect."
A simple, yet effective mantra my friend has been using comes to mind here -
"It's okay to make mistakes while learning." A lot of us can really use that permission slip and cut ourselves some slack. It's better to affirm your process, no matter the pace, than to chastise it. Realize that you are right where you're meant to be for your evolution.
We are always manifesting something into our reality, but most of us are unaware of it.
We assume we have nothing to do with it, and so that creates a sense of detachment and feeling of powerlessness which translates into helplessness...You know the story. How can we fix what we cannot help, right? But once we shift this perspective, we realize the true value in managing our daily thoughts, emotions and actions to create the manifested realities we desire, rather than the ones we don't yet constantly encounter.
*Drink more water while you're at it.
Whatever your practice entails, the key is to make sure it resonates with you and is unique to your spiritual language. Trust your intuition to guide you.
Clear - The restart button. Processing. Letting go.
Cleanse - Purify. Make way for the new. Could be an herbal bath, candles.
Ground - Focus. Dance. Breathe. Explore. Connect to the earth.
Manifest - Clear Intentions. Take Inspired Action. Receive.

Growth happens for us all whether we want it or not. We should expect varying levels of growth throughout our lives - physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, environment, circumstantial, financial. Of course, most stages of growth sprouts, like going through puberty or learning a new skill, happen to us automatically and inevitably. But the way we experience growth can range from total ease to gut-wrenching, heart-shattering, WTF-is-happening-to-me type of transformation where our responses can literally make or break us. When we are receptive, we are more likely to move in the direction of flow; when we are resistant, the process becomes a little more painful. So relax, and trust the process for real!
Building Awareness - Some Questions to Ask Yourself When Ready for Intentional Growth
- Openness -
1. How open is your heart to receiving new information, insight and guidance?
2. Are you willing to exercise trust and understanding in communication with others
or with new experiences?
3. Are you willing to see your reflection in others when it resonates?
(insecurities, strengths/weaknesses, ego)
4. How comfortable are you with unconventional learning and new paradigm thinking?
5. Are you willing to strengthen your intuition? It's there, you just have to tune in and listen.
6. Are you willing to try new techniques and commit to your path of growth, however it takes shape?
- Transparency -
1. How honest are you willing to be with yourself concerning the good, the bad, and the ugly?
2. How comfortable are you with being your authentic self in private or public?
3. Are you willing to make mistakes, privately or publicly to learn your lessons?
4. Can you get comfortable owning your shit, looking at yourself in the mirror, and sharing your personal story/truth with others?
5. Are you willing to be honest about what you truly want, and set your intentions as you gain clarity?
6. Are you willing to set boundaries with others in order to honor yourself first?
Some Things to Note When Experiencing Growth
*Feeling discomfort is normal and often necessary to shift from one state to another.
*Divine timing will always take precedence, even when manifesting.
*Others will notice, and you may not at first. Don't be hard on yourself.
*You will lose people, which will be hard. But you'll gain new connections. Nurture them!
*It's ok to not know how to feel or what to do at any given moment. It's normal. You're human.
*Clarity will come in doses, not all at once. So go ahead and collect those coins of wisdom!
*Self-Care enhances the process, keeps you spiritually grounded and in tune. Don't neglect it.
If this sounds like a waste of time to you, consider this: most people don't self-reflect or practice intentional living at all. A lot of us didn't grow up understanding how to value ourselves let alone observe our being-ness in this world from within. We were taught to seek outward validation from religion or family - whatever the source - it drew the focus away from internal awareness, self-discovery and power. That's why this work is so profound and yields beautiful results when established as a practice. Practice Openness & Transparency.
One of the most empowering things I've ever learned is that I have the power to change and transform by understanding my divine and timeless connection to mother nature and Spirit.
For me, the beauty lies in creating and designing the elements to maintain my unique relationship.
Peace & Blessings,
They say your thoughts create your reality. But underlying those thoughts are a set of beliefs established a long time ago...before you could even make a single conscious decision for yourself.
In order for you to begin to move about in this life from a place of intention and manifestation, you must first learn your natural state of engagement by going back to the beginning. Just until you can connect the dots to find the patterns and blockages that hold you back from "living your best life."
When you complain about not getting the things you want out of life or experience lack in areas such as finances, relationships, sense of purpose, clarity of direction, and confidence to name a few, it is likely that your beliefs don't line up with the new abundance you are trying to manifest--meaning your limiting beliefs about your ability to receive these things is the dominant driving force or "point of attraction" for what you will actually receive. #lawofattraction
For instance, if you want to attract more money, but don't really believe that you're worthy of making money, that money is innately evil or you don't trust yourself to properly manage and handle money, then naturally your efforts to make money will fall flat because the foundation isn't set up to support the desire.
Dismantling old beliefs and replacing them with new ones that are in alignment with your true self takes daily practice. Like learning a new skill set, it takes training and intentional focus.
Here's are some questions that have been helpful for me that you can answer to start this process:
How to Dissolve Limiting Beliefs
1. Awareness. What are your core beliefs? How were they established? Parents? School?
2. How have they affected your decision-making up until this point in your life? How have they shaped your perspective on how you deal with different issues? How have they affected the way you feel about yourself?
3. What beliefs are truly yours vs. beliefs that you inherited from your upbringing/environment? Which beliefs do you want to keep? Which ones no longer support you?
4. How do your current beliefs serve you? Are they helpful in achieving your goals, forming healthy relationships, etc? Do they stifle your growth, causing you to operate in the energies fear, doubt and worry?
5. What beliefs can you now adopt that will help you create the life you desire moving forward and become the person you want to be?
**Create a list of your old limiting beliefs. Then next to each one write a new, counter belief that is more in alignment with what you want to create or how you want to feel. You'll know it's a new belief because it will challenge your built-in system and natural inclinations, and it will empower you!
I get scared that I will fail again whenever I try something new.
I learn something valuable about myself every time I try something new.
**This type of shifting takes time and energy. Don't worry about not getting it right immediately. Just practice. In time, you will develop the confidence and assuredness in your new beliefs. Once you do that, you will notice the things you attract begin to match your desires because you have now shifted your vibration!
Let's continue healing and growing together :)
I'm a feelings junkie. As a pisces, I absorb a lot of energies and have become intentional about developing emotional management skills to avoid getting overwhelmed. This largely involves communicating my needs, which sounds simple enough, but is a common challenge for most people and takes a lot of practice.
That being said, it's no surprise that one of my favorite shows is This Is Us - arguably the most tear-inducing piece of content to ever grace NBC. At least I think so. Season 3, Episodes 11 and 12 in particular really affected me as I had been processing the ways in which families harbor secrets in order to protect their loved ones. Of course, this usually backfires when the truths begin to unfold.
Shows like This Is Us, as cliche as it may sound, aid in our healing process because they reflect back to us what we wish we could communicate or express without fear, judgement or rejection. Our parents may not have had the tools to unpack their traumas, identify their triggers, and convey their emotions, but we now have an incredible opportunity in this golden time of information to create a different reality for ourselves--one that benefits our relationships and promotes personal growth in all facets of our lives.
The writing has a way of tapping into the subconscious to reveal what we're often unwilling or unprepared to see. What shows have helped the way you understand communication and interaction dynamics between friends/family in your life? Yes, I know it's fiction, but I challenge you to look deeper, read between the lines and identify connections.
